The Smo-King Pit was started in 2001 by Mississippi native Micheal Citchens and his wife Michelle. Micheal has lived in Peoria most of his life, but he can trace his love for cooking back to his home town in Mississippi.
Micheal and Michelle take pride in serving only the highest quality BBQ and Ribs to their customers. Ribs and rib tips are hand rubs with Smo-King Pit meat rub and smoked for 3 hours, while the pork butts and beef brisket cook over night for 10 hours.
